Antiquités Brocante

Here are some photos from the annual Antiquités Brocante held at Place de la Bastille along the Seine.

This year there are 480 antique dealers and brocanteurs who are participating as well as numerous food, wine and refreshment vendors. The food and drink options have increased this year to offer more options and more seats. You can delight in sampling local wines, cheeses and charcuteries or you can opt for a traditional hot meal. Each year there is a booth offering hot mint tea and pastries that I find to be the perfect refreshment.

The views are beautiful along the Seine, the people watching is super and the merchandise ranges from funky to unique to magnificent. In other words, something for everyone.

Annual Brocante at Chambord

This past weekend was the annual brocante (or flea market) held on the majestic and magical grounds of the Chambord Chateau. They had approximately 450 participants that included professional antique dealers from all over France.
Two picturesque areas were set up to sell grilled meats, fries and beer with covered outdoor seating. These proved to be very popular destinations and no wonder with the smell of the grilled food wafting through the air!
The vendors were well arranged with wide aisles that allowed easy access for wandering, bargaining and enjoying the day and festivities. An added bonus was free admission and parking.
