Hidden Musical Secrets

Kurado and Herranz

The Fondation de l’Allemagne, Cité Internationale Universitaire is another hidden source for musical excellence at very fair prices. This Sunday, violinist, Yuri Kuroda, and pianist, Jorge Garcia Herranz, performed Beethoven’s sonata en la major, op. 12, Mozart’s sonata en la major, KV 526, Mozart’s 6 variations sur le Andantino and concluded with Beethoven’s sonata en sol major, op. 96. This was for the extravagant price of 7 euros a person.

Kuroda was born in New York and studied in France and Tokyo. She now regularly performs in Europe, the United States and Japan. Herranz was born in Spain and studied music in Madrid and then Paris. He has been a professor at the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud since 1996 and performs regularly in Paris. You can check out his latest CD at http://tangopuntodos.webs.com/apps/webstore/

The link to upcoming cultural events at the Maison Heinrich Heine can be found on their website at http://www.maison-heinrich-heine.fr/fr/

The concert hall is intimate with two sides looking out on the gardens of the University. This physical presence of nature adds a bonus to the concerts presented.

The address is Boulevard Jourdan, 75014 Paris. You can take the RER B or Tram 3 for easy access.

Enjoy !
