Winter Wonderland in Arras
My intent was to visit one of France's more renown Christmas Markets and ended up discovering a perfect destination spot. I choose Arras Because it was getting well into the last minute shopping crunch and I could not imagine being buried in a large town with tons of tourists. Arras is one of the best known markets and it is described as being smaller and more doable for a day's excursion. Even more enticing is that Arras is only a forty minute direct train ride from the Gare de Nord train station in Paris.

Vézelay, a pearl from the middle ages in Burgundy
Vézelay is a wonderful little village not far from Paris that makes for a wonderful day or weekend trip from Paris. Thank you to "Bonjour Paris" for publishing my story on Vézelay and hopefully it will motivate you to take the time to explore the village and the surrounding countryside.

Ma Cantine : Variations Restaurant
Bonjour Paris has just published an article that I wrote for them on one of my favorite restaurants near to our apartment called Variations. It is located at 18 rue des Wallons, 75013 Paris. It can be accessed by metro stop Saint Marcel (ligne 5), Gare d'Austerlitz (ligne 10) or Les Gobelins (ligne 7). The phone number is 01 43 31 36 04.
There is nothing quite like dining in cafés, bistros or brasseries in France. Arguably, the French have everyone else beat and every neighborhood in Paris has a plethora of choices. But even with the many choices, locals tend to gravitate to the same restaurants. One in particular, Variations, is fondly called our “cantine”. This term is used if one tends to go to a favorite spot so often that it feels like your own kitchen.
